Now celebrating its third year, Overlap08 will look at the role design thinking and design strategy can play in the transformation of products, processes and organizations. It will explore and confront the current theories, methodologies and tools for catalyzing sustainable innovation. We will challenge ourselves to provide insight into market-driven solutions that can meet social and environmental challenges.
On June 13, 14 and 15th, at a rural retreat center in West Cornwell Connecticut, fifty distinguished, diverse and committed individuals will gather to identify the forces shaping our future. Overlap participants are accomplished innovators in the corporate, non-profit, design and consulting arenas who will gather together to share and challenge each other in a collaborative peer-to-peer environment.
Overlap08 is made possible through to the efforts of the Overlap community and is co-sponsored by Sustainable South Bronx.
Our Goals:
Objective 1: To stimulate a productive conversation about sustainability among the Overlap’s community of innovators
Objective 2: To facilitate practical ways for innovators to create “pull” for sustainability work
Objective 3: To roadmap sustainability directions, challenges, opportunities for the larger community of innovation practitioners

How does the registration process work?
Overlap is an invitation only conference.
While priority is given to existing participants of the Overlap community, there are a set amount of spots reserved for new participants. This ensures each gathering contains a good mix of fresh thinking and diverse professional backgrounds.
Registrations are accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
Why do you limit the number of people who can participate?
The spirit of Overlap has always been about the dynamic dialogue and conversation between participants. We maintain this atmosphere by keeping the attendance limited, although this has presented some challenges as the Overlap community continues to grow in several different cities.
The small group atmosphere makes it more likely we can create trust and intimacy for productive and spirited discussions than if we held an open forum.
I've filled out my registration form, now what?
You will be notified by May 20th, and sent additional registration information if applicable. You must pay the attendance fee in full in order to confirm your place. Once you have confirmed your spot, an e-package with further details will be sent to you.
